Shipping & Returns

General Information

We currently have 3 ways you can order with Hair 1 Direct:

Online using the website.

Phone us on 0044 1908 217191 and we will take your order over the phone.

By Post, by sending a cheque for the full amount including delivery charge to:

Delivery Charges UK Mainland

Orders under £30 - The cost for this service is £3.80. Orders are dispatched with Royal Mail 1st class recorded. This service takes between 1 - 3 days. All our deliveries need to be signed for. If you are not in to sign for your delivery, a card will be left with details of where to collect your order, in most cases this will be your local Royal Mail Depot. Unfortunately we cannot accept special instructions for Royal Mail deliveries.

If you require a 24hr service, we will dispatch your goods with Parcel Force. The cost for this service is £5.00. Order before 2pm and your delivery will be with you on the next working day. We do not process orders on Bank Holidays. When an item cannot be delivered, the items will be taken to the nearest Sorting Office to await collection. You will be left a card advising you of exactly where the item has been left. When your order is dispatched you will recieve an email with a Parcel Force unique tracking number which you can use to track you parcel online.  Unfortunately we reserve the right to charge you £5.50 and cost of re-delivery if an item is returned to our offices. If you have any special requests regarding delivery please call us on 01908 217191 office hours and we will be happy to help.

Important Delivery Information.

All our Orders need to be signed for.

Unfortunately we are unable to offer the next working day service to the following areas of the UK:

Highlands, Islands of Scotland, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Isle of Scilly and Channel Islands.

For these areas we normally use Royal Mail 2 - 5 days service. These deliveries will still need to be signed for, however if you are not in Royal Mail will leave you a card explaining where your parcel has been taken. In most cases this will be your local Post Office or Royal Mail depot.

We also offer a Click and Collect service for our local Clients.

Returns
Here at Hair 1 Direct we hope that you are pleased with your purchase. However we realise that sometimes you may need to return an item for an exchange or refund. We are happy to offer a 14 day refund policy on all items purchased within the UK, where you will be given a full refund to the value of the goods. Please read the information below carefully.

Faulty items
If you unfortunately receive a product that is deemed faulty, please contact us at your early convenience, and we will advise you on what action to take. Please be aware that some manufacturers like T3 and Ghd require the faulty item to be returned directly to them for replacement. If this happens to be the case with any of your purchases we will notify you.
If it is the case that your goods are being returned due to being faulty, Hair 1 Direct will fulfil the cost for replacement product postage. If it occurs that we find the products are not faulty, but have still been returned to us we reserve the right to charge for postage.

Returning Items
Our preferred method of return would be for you too first Email us ensuring that you detail the products you wish to return and your reasons why.
If you would prefer you can call us (01908 217191) to arrange returning your goods, please make sure that you have to hand your order number, as you can not be issued with a returns number without.

Please make sure you pack the goods with care, as if you fail to pack the parcel well and the goods arrive back to us damaged due to the return trip we may be unable to process your return. You should also make sure you ask for a proof of posting receipt if using this method. This is free with Royal Mail.
We will aim to process your return within 2 working days of it arriving. Please note that if a refund is required, it can take up to 28 days to clear your account. This is solely down to the banks and Hair 1 Direct has no control over the time frame. However the normal time delay is around 7 days.

Cancellation Rights, Returns and Refunds
Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, you the customer have the right to cancel your order. This must be done by you notifying us in writing, either by email or letter, you have 7 working days from the day after you received your order to do so.

All Cancellations must be done in writing; cancellations over the phone will not be accepted.

Once the product has been used, you are no longer entitled to return the item under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000. Unless the product is deemed faulty. Also if the product has some sort or wrapping on it, once it has been removed you may only return it if they are considered faulty.

 When returning goods to us, please follow the following steps:

•    Please send your delivery note back with the goods you are returning.  Please make a note on the back of the delivery note your reason’s for returning the products.
•    If it is the case that you are returning the product because it is faulty please state what the fault is.
•    Make sure that the product is in its original packaging, including any manuals, warranties, and any extras that came with the product. If the product is returned to us not in its original state, we will not be able to give you a refund.
•    The product must be returned to us in its original state; this means all packaging and seals to be in place. If they are not returned with the packaging intact we will be unable to give you a refund. Only if the product is faulty, then we will refund you without the original packaging intact.
•    If you no longer have the packaging to a faulty product, please make sure that the product is packed properly when being returned to us.
•    It is the customer’s responsibility to pay any postage when returning any products to us.
•    We suggest that when returning items to Hair 1 Direct that you send them using registered post, so that you have a record of returning the products to us.
•    Any items lost or stolen when being returned to us, we will not be able to give refunds for.
•    If an item being returned to us is lost or stolen in transit, you should contact the company that was sending it back to us for compensation.
•    If you happen to fail in returning the product to us, in some cases we may arrange for the product to be collected. However the cost of this will be passed onto you.

When returning items we will refund you the price of the product within 28 days of receiving from you in written confirmation that you will be returning your products to us.
If a product is incorrectly sent by us to you or the product is being returned due to a fault. We will cover the cost of any postal costs either standard or recorded delivery. Please be aware that we will not cover the cost of any overnight/express delivery charge or courier service.
