Top two ‘Hair-Do’s’ Of the week!

Hair Products - posted by Hair 1 Direct Team on August 19th, 20101 Comment »

We have been noticing a big trend recently in the celeb world of fashion and hair in the last couple of weeks. Nearly everyone is wearing maxi dresses and to complement them we’re either seeing ‘updone updos’ or ‘top knot’ hairstyles! And the great thing about them is that you can do them yourself… :-)

The top knot (when done right) can look very effective and really enhance eye make up and show off high cheekbones. They have been spotted on Nicky Hilton, Sarah Jessica Parker and Whitney Port.

There are many ways to wear this top knot, whether you have a fringe or keep some bits of your hair down or prefer keeping your hair completely of your face this look can be adapted to suit all. To get this style to look done, start by blow drying you hair smooth with a Tigi Catwalk Sleek Mystique Blow out Balm to get gloss and shine on the hair, then with a paddle brush smooth it through eventually getting it into a high ponytail (the higher the better) so it is sitting on the top of your head, then tightly wrap the hair around the hairband to create a bun effect, and secure it in with curby grips. Use a firm hairspray like Tigi Bed Head Materpiece and a shine spray Tigi S Factor Shiny Happy People to keep the hair looking sleek. Like Gemma Arterton:

For more of a causual look the same technique is applied, instead of wrapping the hair round tightly do it more loose to get more of a scruffy look. Also by waving/curling the hair with straighteners first, can make this updo a lot more casual and summery and pulling a few bits down around the face so it doesn’t look so harsh can be very effective as well.

We would all love to live the glamorous lifestyle in the bright lights of the Hollywood hills. And with the last 6 series of The Hills all us loyal followers of the show have been able to see the highs and lows of what life is like for the young, rich and famous cast members. Now all the drama has come to an end with the final rap party being held in the Roosevelt Hotel.

Not only is it the drama that we are addicted to but we all love to follow the fashion forward trends that the leading ladies wear throughout the show. Whether they are taking a trip to the beach or are attending the opening of a new high end nightclub in West Hollywood, the girls in the show always looked their very best.

Everyone is loving Moroccanoil!

Heat Magazine 14th August

Hills Hair SOS

What they say!

You’d think with her constant red carpet blow-dries, Hills star Audrina Patridge’s hair would be crying out for mercy, but thanks to Moroccanoil Treatment her mane is in fabulous condition. The Hills star, who’s been raving about the Argan Oil infused treat on her blog, said, “It’s a miracle product for all hair types, especially for anyone who over styles their hair like myself.” Now the brand has a new Moisture Repair Shampoo and Conditioner packed with the same ingredients to pamper scorched locks every day.

What we say!

It’s easy to understand why there is so much hype surrounding Moroccanoil. It really is a revolutionary product range!  We have been using the oil treatment in our salon Christos for some time and have been getting some great results. We were thrilled when the shampoo and conditioner were launched in the UK back in July. Since they arrived in our salon they have been a big hit with the stylists and customers who love these products.

So why do we love Moroccanoil so much? Unlike a lot of other oil treatments on the market it does not leave any residue on the hair, meaning the hair is properly nourished but not weighed down or over loaded with product. The shampoo and conditioner are suitable for all hair types and leave a lovely shine on the hair after use. In the salon we like to use the Moroccanoil shampoo followed by one of the two fabulous masks the range has to offer. The Hydrating Mask is great for normal hair that just needs a moisture boost. Or if like Audrina your hair is over styled or it has been coloured regularly or chemically treated than the Restorative Hair Mask will restore your hair to its glossy, nourished best. The range also contains a Curl Cream, Hydrating Styling Cream, Glimmer Shine Spray and handy travel pack. Not used Moroccanoil before? Then we suggest you give the Original Oil Treatment a try, trust us you won’t be disappointed!

Check out The Moroccanoil section of our website to purchase these fantastic products or for more information give us a call on 01908 217191 and we will be happy to discuss the products with you.

No sooner are our evening drawing in then we turn our attention to our wardrobes, skin and hair care for the autumn season.

What we are experiencing in our salon group is what Chloe and Channel are hitting the catwalks with;

Hair is polished, luxurious, glossy, beautifully coloured, fabulously cut and skilfully blow-dried. All of this equals youthful, bouncy, shiny hair. On trend colours especially for those of us aged 30 and over are a mix of soft natural blondes, beiges, minks and light mocha and cappuccino brown. Having a blend of these colours in your hair will showcase expertly applied make up and polished skin. Now that you have a gorgeous new hair style, you are ready to hit the shops and fill your wardrobe with the fabulous new season clothes whether its high street or high couture!  Or, if you are experimenting with a new hair colour, be sure to treat yourself and get the right colour products for your hair this season.

To help you achieve sexy, glamorous, chic and fabulous hair our top stylists recommend starting with an in salon hair treatment. We are loving the new and unique Wella Hair Alchemy service.
