Last night the hair 1 direct team attended the launch of these revolutionary new heated rollers. After experiencing the cloud 9 hair straighteners, we are confident that these heated rollers are the future in hairstyling technology.
After being welcomed by a buffet and wine, we were taken upstairs in the Lacey studios to watch a slide show of how these rollers work. They also gave us an insight on statistics for hair straighteners and rollers. In 2000 out of all electical appliances that were sold, hair straighteners dominated roughly 8% of that market, by 2008 (when the look was straight, straight and straight) it rose to 50% and valued over £102 million. Last year heated rollers only took up 3% of this market, meaning change is coming! Now that the summer is finally here it is important to look after your hair and body when your catching the rays! UVA, UVB and visible radiation breaks down natural pigment in hair, melanin. This is also called ‘photo-bleaching.’ The melanin acts as a kind of natural UV protection filter for the hair but gets damaged itself in the process.
